Henry Gardner, a young man employed on Conductor John Hicks’ train as brakeman, was killed at Thorntown last Friday evening. He was on the ladder on the side of the caboose and was caught between the car and the water tank. His skull was crushed and he lived but a few hours after the accident. Young Gardner’s home was at Zionsville. -s
